    • Sept 14,2014 - Announcements

    • Awana Begins this week

Here we are with the first official Awana meeting of this school year on Wednesday, Sept 24th.

At 5:30 we will be serving a meal. For you who have not taken part in this meal it is a full meal. We usually offer water to drink so if you want soda you can get something from the machine. This portion of the Awana evening is completely self funded. We ask you to pay what you can afford. So far at the end of the year we have broken even or close to it. As you well know the cost of food keeps going up and so does the cost for this meal. Some weeks we will have left overs for you to take. Check at the kitchen window.

      This week's Menu:

      Creole Baked Chicken Thighs
      Baked Chicken Legs
      White Rice
      Corn Bread
      Peach Jello
      Green Salad
Soup - Potato Bacon and More

At 6:30 the Awana meeting will begin. We ask you to help us do a better job of getting the kids registered this year. If you are bringing a child maybe take a form to the kids parents after the first night. The adults who are planning to join the Bible study are invited to help us clean up during the 15 minutes between classes.

At 6:45 - The Adult study will be a look at the book of Galatians. If you go to the web site, there is an Awana tab and under that tab is a link to a study guide for Galatians. We will be looking at the book verse by verse but this might help as an overview.

At 7:45 the evening will be over.

Come for some or come for all but we encourage you to come and see what it is all about.

    • Children's Ministry

First off I want to announce that Awana will begin on Wednesday, Sept 24. We will begin with the meal at 5:30 and Awana begins at 6:30. The adult Bible study will begin at 6:45. Everything will be finished by 7:45. Based on the number of kids we had last year we are in great need for people to help us. We need people in all areas. We believe that this is an important part of this church. It is in Awana where they learn about the Bible and memorizing scripture. Our Sunday morning time does teach but it is not as focused as Awana. That means we need people to help. Please pray about this and let me or Kevin Petersen know if you are willing to help.
We are in need of computers, monitors and gaming systems to set up a computer Bible study lab. The gaming systems would be used for Bible based games. We feel like this will be one tool both Sunday and Wednesday teachers could use. Since the game room is moving upstairs we now have a room next door to the Children's Church room that works well for this need. Many of us have old computers and systems just setting around somewhere. You could even simply loan them to us if you think you might need them back. We have one system set up but having up to 10 or more would be great.
Speaking of Children's Church would you like to help out? See Brad or Tony and they can help you find a way to help.
    • Awana Is Coming!!!!!

      Some Info about Awana...

We have a meal from 5:30-6:25 for anyone who would like to join us. You can pay what you can afford.

There is a nursery for those who are part of the Awana staff or Adult study.

Cubbies® celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers (3- to 5-year olds) by helping them develop respect for God, His Son and His Word.

Sparks® ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids (K-2nd grade) to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.

T&T engages third- through sixth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ's grace.

There are also classes for teens and Adults during our Awana time...
